Jodie Robertson, chef and owner of Southern Smoke soul food restaurant along with her husband was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan with roots from Alabama and Mississippi. Her love for cooking was inspired by her grandmother and Great Grand-Grandmother, Ozie and Corrine. With over 35 years of experience in cooking Soulfood and BBQ Ribs. At southern Smoke we pride ourselves in using only the freshest ingredients while cooking from scratch which is an important part of cooking Soulfood. this diamond in the ruff can be found in the heart of the city at 4023 Division in Wyoming.

After my grandmother passed away, i decided it was time for Grand Rapids to experience some of the wonderful and heartwarming soul foods that i grew up on as a child, including BBQ Ribs and soul food. They were always Soulfully Delicious!
